Rebekah Borg first graduated from the University of Sheffield with a 1st class degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. She went on to read for a Masters in Biomedical Engineering at the prestigious University of Oxford. There, Rebekah was awarded the Medtronic Scholarship for demonstrating exceptional talent and promise in the field of biomedical engineering. On her return to Malta, Rebekah while working as a biomedical engineer, read for a postgraduate diploma in Building Services Engineering. Having a keen interest in local politics, she obtained a diploma in journalism, graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree, followed by a Master’s degree in advocacy from the University of Malta.
Rebekah Borg started working as a Biomedical Engineer in the public sector, focusing her expertise on oncology equipment.
She then went on to become Technical Director of a local company dealing mainly with HVAC projects and equipment.
Rebekah Borg also worked as a part-time journalist with a local newspaper.
Rebekah Borg now works as a lawyer and engineer, combing her technical expertise with legal knowledge, in the fields of planning, environment, construction, property and technology.
As a journalist, Rebekah Borg always followed local politics closely, having interviewed a number of politicians, as well as investigating a number of breaking stories. This paved the way for her entry in politics.
Rebekah Borg contested the 2022 General Election for the first time on the 7th and 11th districts as a candidate for the Nationalist Party. She was elected to Parliament through a casual election on the 7th district.
She served as the Shadow Minister for lands and consumer rights, and then served for a number of years as the Shadow Minister for the Environment.
